The Fact

Time ago I was on travel between Portugal, Spain, Poland, Italy, France and Hungary. I met people around and my itinerary was really very interesting even if I faced many troubles in Hungary and France. Before my departure I collected information about the places I would like to visit as well as information about the gay life of the visiting area, but I realized that the 80% of the information I had about the gay life was inappropriate!

I slept in hotels that till now claim they are “gay friendly” but the apple is empty inside! I went to bars and restaurants with really bad drinks, food and service. The truth is that many people know well how to sell to the gay community.

I was lucky that I met gay people that helped me to organise my travel in a better way avoiding scams by giving me accurate information about the gay life in their zone. So, coming back to home and after a good brainstorming I decided to start this website and work seriously towards creating a “Gay Travel Project” aiming to provide trusted information for gay travellers in Europe.

Let’s Create a Trusted Gay Travel Guide together!

I know that it is not simple, but I feel we can do it! I dream a guide not just as a directory of suggested of gay friendly links but as a robust guide offering trusted information for gay travellers. I’m in search of people from various regions of Europe (max 10 people from every European country) that can act as “local experts” and will have the following duties:

1. Write about their area of residence. From historical data to modern attractions. I have not any pre-designed template, and this means that the Local Expert have to feel free to create his part as he wish!
2. Create a directory of trusted only “gay owned – gay operated” businesses in their area.
3. Create a directory of all Gay events in their area.
4. Maintain the guide by writing articles (minimum of 4 gay travel articles per month).
5. Answer to people’s comments or inquiries related to his area.

What I can offer?

1. All necessary infrastructure for our on-line presence: web hosting, web design, web promotions, web maintenance, etc.
2. A special subdomain for your guide, like: austria.gayconnex.com + one or more email addresses like: your-name@gayconnex.com
3. Any kind of support about writing your articles and graphics design.
4. 60% of advertising revenues produced from your guide and will be allocated under the following scheme:
60% (on net – vat taxed excl.) of all revenues goes to Local Expert.
30% (on net – vat taxed excl.) of all revenues goes to gayConnex.
10% (on net – vat taxed excl.) of all revenues goes to a charity of your choice.

Be impassioned traveller, be a European citizen and resident of the area you will choose to be a local expert, have good English language skills (not as mine … LOL), Basic knowledge of the WordPress platform (I will help on this also), time to dedicate in writing.
